Dr. Pfeifer joined Advanced Radiology in 2014. He grew up just four hours north of Lincoln in southwest Minnesota and trained at both the University of Minnesota and Creighton University. Dr. Pfeifer moved from Minneapolis, MN to Lincoln to bring new therapies and help grow Advanced Radiology across Nebraska. His background involves comprehensive interventional care for patients including cancer therapies, vascular conditions, trauma, inpatient hospital procedure and outpatient care.
Dr. Pfeifer was the first physician to perform Y90 radio-embolization for liver tumors at Bryan Medical Center starting in 2016. As the Y90 Authorized User, he oversees the department which continues to grow and provides treatment for patients with primary liver cancer as well as cancers that have spread to the liver.
His specific areas of interest involve liver directed therapy for cancer including Y90 and chemo-embolization of liver tumors, prostate artery embolization (PAE) for male urinary retention, genicular artery embolization for knee pain, uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) and percutaneous tumor ablations of the spine, kidney and liver. Dr. Pfeifer has been providing endovascular stroke therapy in Lincoln for over 10 years at Bryan.
Dr. Pfeifer is married and has three children. In his free time, he enjoys supporting his kids athletics as well as outdoor activities like boating, biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing and snowmobiling.
